If you enjoy volunteering and being involved in your community, Kingwood Women’s Club may be the right place for you!
The heart of our club revolves around giving our time and talent to our neighbors in need. We offer our members a wide variety of volunteer opportunities including providing mammogram screenings for low-income women, working in charity resale shops and food pantries, facilitating hearing and vision screening for local elementary school children, working with Alzheimer patients and organizing our annual Holiday Marketplace fundraiser. During the last club year, we logged over 14,000 volunteer hours – and had a great time doing it!
We aren’t all work and no play, though! Camaraderie among our members is encouraged through a wide range of social activities. Our Social Committee plans monthly social events for club members to become better acquainted. Recent outings have included antique shopping, museum visits, jazz concerts, and wine tastings. For evening events, spouses and guests are included. In addition, each year the club plans a “ladies only” weekend to places such as New Orleans, Galveston, San Antonio, and New Braunfels. We find that this time together gives us a chance to slow down and just enjoy one another.
Kingwood Women’s Club welcomes women of all ages living in any area of our community. Membership requirements include annual dues of $50.00, fulfilling a minimum of 40 volunteer service hours per year and attendance at two meetings…as well as a giving heart and an optimistic attitude!
